Summary
In a survey of 1,000 US adults, 70% said they had used AI tools or encountered AI-generated summaries when researching a company or product. Forty-five percent said AI-generated answers had made it harder to choose between companies because they sounded too similar.
Why it matters
The results point to a broader market consequence of AI-mediated discovery: visibility in model outputs may not translate into differentiation, recall or durable customer preference.
