Summary
Nona Biosciences announced HCAbLM on 16 September and said the accompanying study was posted to bioRxiv. The 366-million-parameter model was trained on sequences from 73 independently immunised transgenic mice; the company says it outperformed Meta’s ESM-6B, IgLM and AbLang on SEC-purity and HIC-behaviour tests and transferred to thermal-stability prediction.
Why it matters
Specialised biological models may improve antibody design by optimising manufacturability and stability, not only target binding, but independent validation of the reported benchmarks is still needed.
