US closes $1.9 billion loan to restart a nuclear plant linked to Google's AI buildout
The loan will help NextEra Energy refurbish the plant, which stopped operating in 2020 and is targeted for restart in 2029. Google is expected to purchase power from the facility for its cloud and AI infrastructure while the project also supplies the regional grid.
